Assistant Teacher
Education/Training: Minimum Education: Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED, NC Credential I.
Minimum Experience: Six months in early care and education setting or meet state regulations to supervise a group of children alone (Required).
In-Service Training: 20 Hrs. of early childhood training, NC Credential II, Health & Safety regulations and procedures, Center Guidelines and Policies, Parent/Staff Interactions.

Skills/Personal Attributes: Supervise and interact with children, Desire to help children & Commitment to the field, Willingness to be mentored, Team Player, Basic writing skills, Responsible, Dependable, Compassionate, Assisting a classroom Teacher or Lead Teacher with the general supervision, emotionally and physically healthy*, Promoting children physical, social & emotional, and cognitive development.

Essential Knowledge: Assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children, as directed by the Teacher/Lead Teacher. Assist with lesson plan, Planning individual and curriculum, Oral and written communication, Professionalism, Understand child growth and development, Planning a safe and healthy environment, Basic understanding of the environmental rating scales, Advanced ability to interact with parents and families, Licensing compliance and local regulations.
