Teacher

Education/Training: Minimum Education: Associate of Arts degree in early childhood or related field with 9 semester hours in Early Childhood or any licenses, certificates or specialized training that are required by State law. Eg: CDA, CPR, ECE units, law enforcement clearance etc. (Required).

Minimum Experience: One year in an early care and education setting.

In-Service Training: 15 Hrs. of early childhood training, Health & Safety regulations and procedures, Center Guidelines and Policies, Parent/Staff Interactions, Meet State regulations to supervise a group children alone (Required).

Skills/Personal Attributes: Supervise and interact with children, Desire to help children & Commitment to the field, Willingness to be mentored, Team Player, Basic writing skills, Responsible, Dependable, Compassionate, Positive Attitude, Emotionally & Physically Healthy*, Assisting a classroom Lead Teacher with the general supervision, Promoting children physical, social & emotional, and cognitive development.

Essential Knowledge: Responsible for the daily planning, management and supervision of the classroom and children. Generally, is assisted in the classroom by an Assistant Teacher. Planning individual and curriculum, Create Lesson Plan, Oral and written communication, Professionalism, Understand child growth and development, Planning a safe and healthy environment, Basic understanding of the environmental rating scales, Advanced ability to interact with parents and families, Licensing compliance, certificates or specialized training as required by State law and/or regulatory agencies.
